This is the classic overland route from Marrakech to the great dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga, covering roughly 560 km each way. Because the distance is long, it is done over three days with scenic stops rather than a single drive. You cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, visit the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, pass through Ouarzazate and the gorges, and spend a night at a desert camp in the dunes.

- 3Merzouga to Marrakech
Sunrise over the dunes, then the return drive to Marrakech via the Draa Valley.
