Todra Gorge is a dramatic limestone canyon in southeastern Morocco near Tinghir. Many Marrakech–Merzouga routes stop here between the Dades Valley and the desert.
The main gorge
The narrowest section is accessible by road and can be explored on foot. The cliffs rise steeply on both sides, making it a popular short walking stop.
Beyond the photo stop
If your itinerary allows, the surrounding palm oasis and villages are worth additional time.
Climbing
Todra is also known among rock climbers. Climbing requires appropriate equipment, experience and a guide or local knowledge where necessary.
Season and water
Conditions can change after rain. Follow local advice and do not enter flood-prone areas during unstable weather.
