Dakhla combines three environments in one destination: a long Atlantic coastline, a sheltered lagoon and desert landscapes. That means the best activity plan is usually a mix rather than a checklist of monuments. The Moroccan National Tourist Office specifically highlights the White Dune, Dragon Island, Puerto Rico beach and watersports, while its nature guidance also describes fishing and desert exploration.

Water activities

Kitesurfing

Choose lessons by verified operator information, rescue arrangements, equipment and teaching location. Beginners should ask where shallow-water training takes place rather than assuming every school uses the same spot.

Wingfoil and windsurf

These use the same broader wind-and-water setting but require different equipment and instruction. Check whether the centre has equipment suited to your level.

Surfing

The ocean side has wave-focused locations distinct from the flatter lagoon environment. A traveller wanting both kite and surf should choose accommodation and transport around both zones.

Boat and lagoon outings

Read the itinerary carefully: the words “lagoon tour” do not tell you whether it is a sightseeing boat, fishing outing, wildlife-focused trip or transfer to a specific place.
